The Lariet Steakhouse was Built in the 1940s

Thirty years later, the Kouri family took on the mantle of this prestigious restaurant. It was Lou Kouri, in May of 1970, who purchased the Lariat. Six months later, Lou’s brother Ed joined the business, and it’s been a family affair ever since. Four major renovations and two generations of the family later, the Lariat Steakhouse has come to be what you know and love today.

Dan Kouri now manages and operates the Lariat Steakhouse, with the assistance of his brother Kenny and more of his extended family. We are a true, multi-generational family-owned business with deep roots in the Peoria, East Peoria, and Pekin area. Our family is diligent, some might say obsessive, about passing down our steak house heritage to each succeeding generation.

We worked hard to achieve our success, and we want to keep it that way: in the family, in Peoria, and in the best possible style.

Our restaurant features a mahogany ceiling and a newly remodeled bar. It’s a great place to meet friends and enjoy the company of others before sitting down for a delicious meal.

The dining room and banquet halls combined hold up to 450 total seats. We can handle banquets up to 250 seats, with the ability to split the banquet area into three separate banquet halls.

Adding to the style and atmosphere of our restaurant, you’ll find our fireplace, adorned by a large buffalo head, bought by Lou Kouri back in 1970.
